Plot:
This farce takes place inside an American Embassy in an unnamed country behind the Iron Curtain in 1965. An American tourist, a caterer by trade, and his wife and daughter rush into the embassy two steps ahead of the police who suspect them of taking pictures and spying in a restricted area. It’s not much of a refuge because the ambassador is absent and his son, who is now in charge, is a perpetual screw-up who has been expelled from a dozen countries and the continent of Africa. Nevertheless, they put their heads together to carefully and frantically plot the family’s escape and the ambassador’s son and the caterer’s daughter even have time to fall in love.
